Description:

The Pennsylvania Insurance Department, Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error Fund (MCARE) is seeking a modified Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solution to administer excess Medical Professional Liability (MPL) system administration of coverage and compliance, claims, and fiscal operations; configurable workflows; robust data management and reporting; and responsive customer service. As a part of the PID Project, the selected Offeror shall provide a high degree of skill and knowledge that will meet the Agency’s requirements, continuous training, on-going maintenance and support, and all other applicable services to support the proposed solution and implementation.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Insurance Department is firmly committed to modernizing its core operations through the implementation of new business processes and a core insurance-based software system. MCARE has an urgent need to harness the benefits of updated technology. The RFP represents a key strategic initiative to transform and future proof of MCARE’s capabilities over the long-term. MCARE’s goal is to select a partner whose solution can nimbly adapt to the unique Medical Malpractice Excess coverage business needs and regulatory changes.
