Description: Emergency Remediation - Wilkes-Barre Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation submitted an Emergency Procurement Request Form for a project located at Rausch Creek Treatment Facility. The Rausch Creek Treatment Plant is an environmental facility that its primary purpose is to remove contaminants from the creek and address pollution caused by previous coal mining. The "clarifier rake" has broken off and to complete the repair, water needs to be drained to ground level. The tank is approximately 35 feet deep in the earth and the ground water elevation needs to be monitored to prevent the tank from rising and destroying the tank. Currently, the plant is operating with one clarifier rake at stream base flow, but if the stream rises it will be overwhelmed, and raw AMD will pollute the stream. This stream is used for agricultural and industrial processes.
