Description: This Project includes:  PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS.  PROJECT TITLE:  Thaddeus Stevens College – New Multipurpose/Dorm Building BRIEF DESCRIPTION: THIS PROJECT IS A PILOT FOR IMPLIMENTATION OF LEAN PROJECT DELIVERY.  APPLICANTS MUST HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE LEADING PROJECTS USING LEAN TOOLS AND METHODS.  Pull Planning, Target Value Design, Continuous Estimating and Big Room Integration Events are some of the Lean tools and methods that are expected to be incorporated in the design process.  Please read the Program Development Study and Instructions for Completing and Submitting an Application in the e-builder portal carefully. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, creating a multipurpose facility that will accommodate the current and future need for food service and student housing while providing ancillary space for classrooms and multi-function rooms to support student growth.  Displaced parking will also need to be addressed with a parking structure.
ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $24,000,000.00.

The PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS MEETING is scheduled for FRIDAY, MAY 28, 2020 AT 10:00 AM.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF SHORT-LISTED FIRMS Interviews will be conducted with all short-listed firms. The short-listed professionals will be notified as to the date, time and location of the interviews.  A “Detailed Proposal” will be requested from short-listed firms for this project.  The following information will need to be provided:  detailed resumes for key design and management personnel with references.  Key personnel must have experience leading or participating in Lean project Delivery; the firm’s approach to the project, including descriptions of tasks and scope of services, and an explanation of how the approach provides value to the Commonwealth; a detailed description from the firm’s portfolio of a Lean Project Delivery project that illustrates the firm’s ability to translate design intentions into a solution that meets the client’s needs and expectations; an organizational chart and detailed work plan, identifying key personnel roles and percent of time assigned to the project; an explanation of how the firm assures high quality bidding documents; visual examples of relevant projects completed by the lead design professional and key personnel, with contact information for references for these projects; an assessment of key project issues and risks to the project; identification of special investigations, studies or testing that may be required; a description of how diversity will be accomplished within the team; evidence of financial capability; a list of professional liability claims and/or legal actions within the last ten years, a non-binding fee proposal, and a description of the firm’s understanding of the processes described in the Program Development Study and how the firm has used these processes successfully on other projects.
