This Project includes: PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS. PROJECT TITLE: Indiana University – Chilled Water Plant Expansion BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, expansion of the existing chiller to provide for additional peak capacity needs and redundancy. In addition to the new building/addition, the necessary chiller, cooling towers and associated equipment and controls, the project shall include storm water management, retaining walls, access roads and parking, security fencing and lighting as required in the vicinity of the new and existing chiller plant buildings.
ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $3,248,469.00.

The PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS MEETING is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2020 AT 10:00 AM.
The Department of General Services Public Works and the Bureau of Diversity, Inclusion and Small Business Opportunities (BDISBO) identified this procurement as eligible for the setting of Small Diverse Business (SDB) and/or Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE) participation goals. This is a significant programmatic change from the SDB and SB Participation program contained in prior Projects issued by Public Works. Applicants now must agree to meet the SDB and VBE Participation Goals in full or demonstrate that they have made Good Faith Efforts to meet the Goals. Refer to the project e-builder solicitation folder for instructions regarding Small Diverse Business and Veteran Business Enterprise participation.
The Goals for SDB participation: 16%
The Goals for VBE participation: 3%
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF SHORT-LISTED FIRMS Interviews will be conducted with all short-listed firms. The short-listed professionals will be notified as to the date, time and location of the interviews. A “Detailed Proposal” will be requested from short-listed firms for this project. The following information will need to be provided: detailed resumes for key design and management personnel with references; the firm’s approach to the project, including descriptions of tasks and scope of services, and an explanation of how the approach provides value to the Commonwealth; an organizational chart and detailed work plan, identifying key personnel roles and percent of time assigned to the project; an explanation of how the firm assures high quality bidding documents; an assessment of key project issues and risks to the project; identification of special investigations, studies or testing that may be required; evidence of financial capability; a list of professional liability claims and/or legal actions within the last ten years; a non-binding fee proposal; a description of the experience of MEP team members with chiller and controls systems over the last 5 years; and MEP team’s philosophy regarding multiple chiller control to maintain efficient operations with regards to redundancy, variability, and sequencing of equipment.
