This Project includes: PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS. PROJECT TITLE: SCI Mahanoy – Replace Roofs on Various Buildings BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, replacement of EPDM and metal roof systems over Centralized Services and Housing Unit B. The work includes evaluating and identifying any damage or deteriorated metal deck, review of the parapet and EPDM interface in order to develop proper interface and control details, removal of all membrane roofing, insulation, curbs, flashings and vents as required, replacement and refurbishment of any damaged deck and roof drains, replacement of all flashings and damaged fasteners, installation of a 60 mil EPDM system over R-30 polyisocyanurate insulation, adaptation of roof access, etc., for increased insulation thickness, repair and/or replacement of metal roofing, and all necessary UCC permits.
ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $1,300,000.00.

The PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS MEETING is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2020 AT 10:00 AM.
The Department of General Services Public Works and the Bureau of Diversity, Inclusion and Small Business Opportunities (BDISBO) identified this procurement as eligible for the setting of Small Diverse Business (SDB) and/or Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE) participation goals. This is a significant programmatic change from the SDB and SB Participation program contained in prior Projects issued by Public Works. Applicants now must agree to meet the SDB and VBE Participation Goals in full or demonstrate that they have made Good Faith Efforts to meet the Goals. Refer to the project e-builder solicitation folder for instructions regarding Small Diverse Business and Veteran Business Enterprise participation.
The Goals for SDB participation: 16%
The Goals for VBE participation: 3%
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF SHORT-LISTED FIRMS The following information will need to be provided: detailed resumes for key design and management personnel with references; the firm’s approach to the project, including descriptions of tasks and scope of services, and an explanation of how the approach provides value to the Commonwealth; an organizational chart and detailed work plan, identifying key personnel roles and percent of time assigned to the project; an explanation of how the firm assures high quality bidding documents; visual examples of relevant projects completed by the lead design professional and key personnel, with contact information for references for these projects; an assessment of key project issues and risks to the project; identification of special investigations, studies or testing that may be required; a description of how diversity will be accomplished within the team; evidence of financial capability; a list of professional liability claims and/or legal actions within the last ten years and a non-binding fee proposal.
