Description: PennDOT is seeking multiple Third-Party Motorcycle Training Providers to conduct basic, intermediate, advanced and three wheel motorcycle safety training courses for Pennsylvania residents, who have either a motorcycle license or learner’s permit. PennDOT is looking for a least one training location per county within the Commonwealth and Providers may propose one or more locations as part of their offer for PennDOT’s consideration.  In March 1984, Chapter 79 – Motorcycles was added to the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, 75 Pa. C.S. Chapter 79, which required PennDOT to establish a motorcycle safety education program throughout the Commonwealth.  In addition, Pennsylvania law requires that anyone age 16 or 17 who would like to obtain a motorcycle license complete a PennDOT designated motorcycle safety program course. The resulting contracts are expected to start in January 2021.

In addition to this forthcoming solicitation, PennDOT is also currently soliciting proposals for an emergency procurement for the Motorcycle Safety Training Program. Under the emergency, contracts will run until 12/31/20.
