Description: This Project includes:  PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS.  PROJECT TITLE:  PA State Police Academy Complex, Feasibility Study for Construction and Other Related Costs for Renovations  BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, a study to define current functions and any proposed new functions, both within the main buildings or ancillary to them, and develop the space and functional program for their replacement, or updating as appropriate, with a new “State of the Art” facility.  This new facility is to utilize the latest technology and construction materials and methods and have the capability of supporting the training, educating, feeding and housing of the Academy’s 300 Pennsylvania State Police Cadets and their support staff.  This is to include all current functions and operations in a modernized and expanded new facility while utilizing and/or preserving functional elements as is appropriate, identifying opportunities, constraints and options.  Identification of items that should be salvaged and preserved for possible use in a museum that is anticipated to be included.  The study will provide detailed cost estimated for all options, breaking out specialized building and mechanical systems cost as well as site facility costs.  ESTIMATED CONCSTRUCTION COST: $TBD.

The PROFESSIONAL SELECTIONS MEETING is scheduled for THURSDAY, MAY 18, 2017 AT 10:00 AM.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF SHORT-LISTED FIRMS: Interviews will be conducted with all short-listed firms. The short-listed professionals will be notified as to the date, time and location of the interviews.  A “Detailed Proposal” will be requested from short-listed firms for this project.  The following information will need to be provided:  detailed resumes for key design and management personnel with references; the firm’s approach to the project, including descriptions of tasks and scope of services, and an explanation of how the approach provides value to the Commonwealth; a detailed description from the firm’s portfolio of a project that illustrates the firm’s ability to translate design intentions into a solution that meets the client’s needs and expectations; an organizational chart and detailed work plan, identifying key personnel roles and percent of time assigned to the project; visual examples of relevant projects completed by the lead design professional and key personnel, with contact information for references for these projects; an assessment of key project issues and risks to the project; identification of special investigations, studies or testing that may be required; a description of how diversity will be accomplished within the team; evidence of financial capability and a list of professional liability claims and/or legal actions within the last ten years and a non-binding fee proposal.
