Solicitation/Project#: 1104-68-BP7 Solicitation/Project Title: New Library Concrete & Waterproofing
Description: The University is seeking qualified contractors to bid on work for the Concrete & Waterproofing Package as part of the New Temple University Library Project to be constructed at 1901-47 Park Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19122.

Temple intends to construct a new library on its main campus in Philadelphia which will house Temple’s collection of over 2 million volumes, plus special collections. Opening of the facility is scheduled for the start of Temple’s Fall 2018 semester (August 1, 2018). The new 203,516 GSF library will consist of 4 levels of interior space, plus basement and will include student study, research, and reference areas, special collections, exhibit and event spaces, as well as administrative and support space. The roof level will include a green roof area and some terrace space. The building will also contain an Automated Storage and Retrieval System for the Library’s book collection.

The building that previously occupied the site has been demolished under a separate project by the University. The Library Project is structured as a multi-Prime Contract arrangement. A Prime Contract award for the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) has been made. An early Sitework Contract was awarded and is currently underway to prepare the site, excavate to subgrade, and install caissons. Following the early Sitework Contract completion, the Concrete & Waterproofing Contractor will begin work on site. Additional Prime Contractors that are being solicited to follow the Concrete work include: General Construction, Mechanical - HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Protection, Electrical, and Low Voltage Systems.

BP #7: Concrete & Waterproofing
Furnish all necessary services, labor, material, supervision, tools, supplies, equipment, insurance, applicable taxes necessary for a complete Concrete & Waterproofing Package as shown in the Contract Documents for the above referenced project. The Work shall be in accordance with the Project’s General Conditions and related work by others. Specific requirements and details are provided in the Invitation for Bid (IFB), and in the Drawings and Specifications contained within Attachments to the IFB.

Release of BP #7: Concrete & Waterproofing
The release of the Concrete & Waterproofing bid package is tentatively scheduled to occur no later than June 27, 2016 with bids tentatively due on July 13, 2016.

All bid information is released and processed through TUebid, Temple University’s on-line bid management system.

To be invited to participate in the bid process through TUebid, interested parties must contact Tarah J. Morris, via e-mail at projects@temple.edu for written instructions by no later than 2:00p.m. EST, June 20, 2016. Insert the wording “Concrete & Waterproofing – BP #7-Vendor Registration” in the subject line.

If you are already registered as a Temple University vendor and in the TUebid system, you must indicate your interest in this project by contacting Tarah J. Morris via e-mail at projects@temple.edu by no later than 2:00p.m. EST, June 20, 2016. Insert the wording “Concrete & Waterproofing – BP #7-Pre-Registered Vendor” in the subject line.

Registration in TUebid System, Legal Existence of Offeror
No bid will be accepted from an Offeror that is not registered in the TUebid system. In order to ensure proper registration in the TUebid system, an application to register must be made no later than 5 days prior to the date scheduled for receipt of bids in the Calendar of Events that will appear in the RFP. Under no circumstances will a bid be accepted from or on behalf of an entity, such as a partnership or joint venture that is not in existence on the date the bid is submitted, or the existence of which is contingent on a future event, such as the award of a contract pursuant to the IFB.
