Description:
PSERS seeks to obtain pharmacy benefit management services for the prescription drug programs covering its members. Members and their dependents are located primarily in Pennsylvania with approximately 10% residing outside the Commonwealth. The program covers approximately 79,000 individuals currently in a direct contract with CMS for an employer/union PDP and less than 200 individuals in an under-65 retiree health program. All members are covered under one of the two programs. There is a Health Options Program (HOP) call center which responds to questions from participants related to their enrollment in the PDP and medical plans. Participants in the PDP currently have three plan options (Value, Basic, and Enhanced) that closely follow the standard Part D plan design and are comparable with other Medicare PDPs offered in the Pennsylvania marketplace. Participants in the under 65 program are provided through a plan which closely mirrors the Standard Part D program with a $3,000 maximum for brand drugs.
