Description:
|
The Department of Health (DOH) is implementing the Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) with the goal of having all end users trained to register deaths electronically in the DAVE™ system. A pilot was completed in three counties (Dauphin, Cumberland, and York). Based on the lessons learned during the pilot, the statewide implementation is occurring in two phases. The first phase (Phase 1) includes funeral directors, coroners, medical examiners, and local registrars.. The second phase (Phase 2) includes licensed health care facilities and medical certifiers. Approximately 30,000 end users will ultimately have access to participate in some part of the electronic death registration after full implementation of all stages of Phase 1 and 2 are complete. Rollout of Phase 1 training is occurring in two stages (Phase 1A and Phase 1B). Training for Phase 1A (Regions 2 and 3) has been awarded and is in process. The Department of Health is now seeking a provider to complete training for the second stage of Phase 1 (Phase 1B), which is the remaining 8 regions of Phase 1.
