Description:
|
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health is seeking to implement the “Achieving Better Care by Monitoring All Prescriptions (ABC-MAP) Act (Act 191 of 2014) through the use of a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. ABC-MAP intends to utilize an electronic system to increase the quality of patient care by making the patient’s prescription history available to all prescribers and dispensers of prescription medications. The solution is intended to alert medical professionals to the potential dangers of drug interactions and to the potential for prescription drug abuse. The solution is also intended to increase the quality of patient care by enabling medical professionals and patients to make educated and thoughtful health care decisions. In addition, the system will assist regulatory and law enforcement agencies in detecting and preventing fraud and prescription drug abuse.
