Community Primary Care Challenge Grant
Description:
The overall goal of this funding is to increase access to primary medical and dental care for underserved populations by increasing the number of primary care health care practitioners and the number of primary care medical and/or dental clinics. The grant opportunity offers two (2) tiers of funds. Tier one (1) is for the implementation or expansion of primary medical or dental clinics in or serving a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA), Medically Underserved Area/Population (MUA/P) or low income population. Tier two (2) is for the establishment of Community Health Centers (CHC) that serve or are located within an area that has an existing MUA/P that lacks a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Federally Qualified Health Center Look Alike (FQHC-LA).
